@ Dangermouse
Please run by us in simple terms how a Dinosaur such as I goes about getting started in Cryptos
Coin base is a platform I have heard of.
After that its a clear as mud
TIA
Anyone else feel free to share your experience and try to teach an old dog a new trick
Fully, good idea starting tapping your toe ! Congratulations !
Personally I use Bitstamp: secure and cost efficient !! That’s very good in Europe (but Americans do not use it as much because it implies international wires).
In the U.S. CoinBase is most well known and that’s certainly a good option, as you suggest.
In Canada I would use a Canadian exchange (that’s easier to be verified by KYC), should be faster and more cost effective.
Here you can find the best exchanges: https://blockgeeks.com/best-canadian-cryptocurrency-exchanges/
There is also a young guy explaining how to buy Bitcoin in 10 minutes here: https://youtu.be/3n4VDCxjKGA
Look it up and start buying 100 USD today … just for fun … if you have a mobile phone of course … Not sure you have one, as you seem to live in the woods… ha ha ha.
Cheers

If you’re buying the major coins (bitcoin, ETH, XRP, etc), I find that uphold is pretty simple to use.
You are right !! Simple and secure. However they have high fees (1 to 1.5%) and the market price is as much as 4% over spot (do not know where they take it from). Finally they have only instant market orders (no limit orders).
Thank you Dangermouse
I will look into it
Yes I have a cell phone even though Im in the woods ( literally )
