     Actually, KenS, we always used to say the miners lead the metals. The miners leading the metals down was the reason I turned bearish in the first place. If the miners now rally in the face of a declining metals price, IMO, its a bullish sign. Since I’m expecting an asset deflation first, I’m not fully convinced the miners are ready to rally. Still, it won’t hurt to be on the look out.

   Probably not worth a new post, but might be worth a mention here… It’s Red Label’s theory about the price of GOLD. Remember — 1200 / USD index / 100 = Gold Price in $USD (plus or minus 3%)
   $GOLD has continued to drop while the USD index has held in consolidation. Today we have:
   1200 divided by 94.72 divided by 100 = $1266.89
   Minus 3% = $1228.98 Today’s $GOLD close $1227.40
   So either $GOLD will not fall further without a dollar drop from 94.72, OR the theory no longer holds water…

     I just did the math and I believe the formula s/b 1200/94.72 X 100 rather than /100 plus or minus 3% just to clarify.

       I see what you mean MM. You are right. I kind of cheat like this…
       I first divide the dollar index by 100 (94.72/100 = .9472)
       Then divide 1200 by .9472 = 1266.9
       Either way it works out.

     Maybe $Gold is leading the $US to 97.5?

     Regardless of the move Gold or $US it’s been a hell of a squeeze recently. I like the recent posts re capital preservation in the face of potential chaos thanks Rambus & Plunger for your thoughts appreciated.

     For me I need too see confirmation from XAUEUR & $Gold in tandem and even then caution is my new buzz word. Currency Wars & Trade Wars any experts on those lurking the TA tent? Any thoughts out there on Cu and $Silver?

   Many AUS miners now very close to hosting a DCL at around 55+ calendar days from their last DCL

   I have been saying for some time that the AUS miners follow gold closely and I could not imagine that relationship departing anytime soon so I suspect we will see an ICL by the end of the week.

   Meanwhile the USD has still time to host a higher DCH and still form a failed left translated daily cycle.

   As I write it has printed a new high on calendar day 9 and my expectation is that it will host a DCH around 11-13 calendar days from the 09 Jul DCL

   So silver fox it is time to get bullish and buy up some leveraged gold stocks!

   PS Huge all time record volume of NUGT traded yesterday.
