   Of two minds about this. The first thought is dollar weakness reflected by CRB strength will translate into gold strength, and gold will behave like a commodity. The second is that gold, like the dollar, is a currency. As gold weakens, the CRB increases. And if gold turns around right here as many cyclists expect, will the CRB turn back down?

   And of course there will undoubtedly be times when gold and the dollar and commodities have and will all rise at once. So for clues to gold, I will probably have to stick with the gold chart.

   Just read a newsletter this morning pointing out that a portfolio consisting of 50% SummerHaven Dynamic Commodity Index (pure commodities) or USCI (commodities ETF) and a blend of bonds and gold beats the stock market by 10% over several decades. Go figure. Same newsletter is now calling for a long-term bull in commodities. Not gold, but commodities such as those found SCDI and USCI. Which I am sure mirrors the chart you just posted…as a long-suffering goldbug, I am finally throwing in the towel (including those gurus I paid several hundred dollars a year to for failed advice) and switching to the above mentioned asset allocation approach. 50% in SDCI and 50% in a gold fund. And I will stop sweating bullets about my evaporating portfolio and begin sound sleeping once again.

     Good approach Boomer

     PMs are very seductive…we all very excited by that incredible move in H1 2016….some sold near the top

     using whatever TA …and some held longer…we are all prone to mistakes
