Missing Data
Anyone know why goldprice.org/tradingview etc seem to have dumped the data covering the period when the dollar index was up at 164 back in the 80’s ? If you select time period ‘all’ it doesn’t go back as far as it did 2 days ago. I noticed it yesterday, but thought it was a temporary glitch. It’s annoying because I need it to chart the current resistance line somewhere between 91 and 92. Stockcharts has it, but I can’t zoom in at all (maybe you need a paid account for that).
I’ve noticed that as well, even on other platforms. No idea why…
Because the PTB knows we are the best Chartists and are figuring out their demonic intentions….
🙂
I have filed complaints to Tradingview before for cutting long dated data. They used to have gold back to 1920,copper to 50’s ect. Sometimes it’s a data provider issue but they said sometimes they make a decision to snip data as it consumes server space. All of my currency pairs still have data to 1972 and dxy is the only one snipped thus far. I will file a complaint. I think in this daytrader world many see monthlies as unnecessary but that’s where I start.

Absolutely.
Try Investing.com. They still provide historical data (monthly) on DXY going back to 1971-ish, I just checked. If it doesn’t work for you let me know I’ve got it saved.
Thanks all. Glad others had noticed too.
