Every Single Stock Market In The World Appears To Be Pretty Much Moving In Unison
This is the 1st time I’ve ever paid this degree of attention to global stock markets but, nevertheless, it still strikes me as a little odd.
What’s the point of even having separate stock markets if they all move pretty much in unison with one another?
Granted, this assessment is something of a simplification because theses are all ETFs but, nevertheless, they are legitimate proxies for the
underlying markets.
The SM’s are China (very large cap only), EM, Global ex-US, Japan, Eurozone, Germany, UK, Wilshire 5000, S&P 500 & Dow Jones:
Good and interesting Point JL.
something to ponder
been noticing it too, maybe the algo machines are running the game and it’s the only moves shakin now as the machines have taken over.
Folks I follow have been calling it “all one market” for years now. (And that goes far beyond just stocks too.)
That’s where you end up when its central bank driven, and only central bank driven.
Ie, Russian stocks may be undervalued, but its GLOBAL liquidity (not just Fed) that is driving everything. If rug ever gets pulled, there will be no safe havens.
