Interesting Trip Down Memory Lane

Is GGI’s Nickel Mountain ? the next Voisey’s Bay
One thing for sure it’s listed on the Wild Wild West Exchange
The stock has been halted 5 times in the last 3 days for a few minutes because of price moves so swift they break the circuits . https://www.marketwatch.com/story/iiroc-trading-halt—ggi-2017-11-23
Mining Junkies gotta have this kind of action…!
Win or lose…it gets the juices flowing and blood boiling
This thing ( Diamond Fields ) was THE story in Mining…just before the BreX Mania period 1992
Garibaldi’s Nickel Mountain has been compared with Voisey’s Bay may even be the Catalyst for another Like Mania (along with NOVO )…see Plunger’s Epic weekend report…..and there is talk of ( in BOTH these stories) Perhaps loads of cobalt as well. Hot Rocks !
Cobalt Nickel and Gold prospecting…and Large Stories ….both…Hope or Hype ? You gotta love the wild speculative juices that these plays engender.
Fully’s fearless freediction…one or both of these plays will ignite the new Mining Mania…the Gold Price could do nothing and we could still see 100 baggers in short times…like happened in the early to Mid Nineties…If you were there you KNOW what I mean .
its been 25 years since one of these speculative frenzies got started…is it time again ?
I rode the 10 and 50 baggers all the way up and all the way down too…this time with the help of the chartist community I plan to sell the top !
🙂
Cmon mojo…there’s Gold and Nickel and Cobalt in them thar hills ( also Bears )
I was there, it’s a big part of why I underestimated the bear of the last 7 years – we never had the mania to end the bull. 2000 – 2011, was by and large tepid compared to the madness of the mid-nineties. I remember being told what mining stocks were hot by people who’d never thought of mining as an industry 6 months earlier, and also that a lot of guys I knew who’d previously been ‘self-employed’ or unemployed were suddenly ‘brokers’ for boiler-room type brokerages pushing every stock on what was then the VSE and the ASE. You could walk by the ASE any hour the market was open and the halls were crowded with people watching the board.
I think that phase has yet to come, and will probably be all the more explosive for the severity of the beat-down over the last 6 or 7 years.
The thing is PT….This mid nineties mania happened in the middle of a bear market . Pretty much where we are now
Gold barely budged …maybe 400 to 430
The Majors didn’t move a whole lot…it was just an explorer event.
What’s the trigger ? Stocks like Diamond Fields and Bre-X getting hyped…one proved to be the real deal the other was the greatest fraud in mining history….but they both had exciting stories…these 2 and others fueled the 2 year mania
Fast Forward 25 years and now its Garibaldi and Novo with the exciting stories
I do agree ..the 2011 Top was muted by comparison with the 1980 Top….
What I do remember was that the frenzy spread through the whole sector – plays all over Mexico, South America, that had nothing to do with Bre-Ex (I have more memories of that one than Diamond Fields) shot from .50 to 11.00 essentially overnight. So I agree, all the sector needs is a really exciting discovery and things could get hot with a tepid gold market. And if gold gets going (as in the 70s, which seems possible given the early signs of bull markets across the whole commodity sector) things could get really wild. I think the risk for a lot of people who’ve never been through it will be to sell out too soon, thinking the gains are already outrageous (and then the more common mistake of staying past the end of the party).
I too remember the 80’s bull. I was in grade 8 or 9 and my grandpa gave me some money. I went to the bank and ordered some silver ounces and still have them today hoping to cash in. I think it was about 30 bucks/oz then from the bank and yes that was lots of money back then, and here we sit at half that price today.! I also used to iron old bills and take the wrinkles out and make them smell nice and new, must of been 10 yrs old or so. My parents called me Milburn Drysdale. The new plastic bills got no smell, takes the fun out of it! Born with the gold fever. 🙂
🙂
Hey Fully, this is the scenario I had always hoped for!
When I dared to prospect it everybody called me mad,it seems just too good to be true.
Anyway we did have a nice bull market in miners in the FIRST part of the gold bull from 2001 to 2011,but it was a very tiepid bull from 2008 to 2011 for gold/silver stocks.
Pratically nobody is ready for such a bull market in miners except us here at goldtent, just think that gold itself is an investiment for very few souls,in order to find somebody that invest into gold/silver stocks into the mainstream you need the help of some quantum nanoparticel expert!!!
We are “mad” …but there will be another mania…personally I think soon.
