   question is , was the latest drop due to Trump talking he wanted the lower dollar? He does understand finance and is it just a co-inky dink that it fell. Assuming it was his actions then, he still wants a lower dollar and thus changing Yellens’ post may continue to keep it down. On the other equation is Armstrong thesis that Euro collapse and demand for the buck will cause it to rise. I would have to agree with Army’s story as the potus is just a crazy guy versus a huge European population without a pot to piss in. Shifty banks in the Eurozone can quickly become the trigger to set the movement. Either way the dow and rambus picks keep chuggin’ along. Lower dollar however will take some stress off of foreign monies borrowed by other countries and the such, but be just a temporary fix as gov’ts at all levels continue to the pig trough.

   If you study the dollar cycle, it makes no real difference what the politicians do, or don’t, do. The cycle asserts itself every time. If we go up from here to new highs, we will still plunge to that cycle low between 60 and 70, but it would be a right translated cycle. This would, no doubt, coincide with a SM blow off. My preferred outcome is for the dollar to roll over in the next few weeks though and, like Spock and Graddhy, I’d expect to be in the 80 region by early Summer. I do remain open to that right translated cycle option though.

   Thanks Fully. I have been studying this time range of the $USD dollar off and on for a while now. If you don’t mind, I would be curious to see what you think the concluding reversal formations were during the 2000-2003 as well as the 1984-1986 periods. I’m coming up with a rising / reversal wedge as well as a expanding wedge similar to what’s present today for the 2000-2003.

   I often find that the inexperienced mind can talk it self into enough scenarios to the point its constantly chasing its tail in circles from one side of the field to the other. Not an easy way to live. Its taken me 44 of my 47 years to realize that not every thought that causes an emotion is factual. I would appreciate your views on the above time lines if you get a chance. Thanks again.

     Hey Optional ..I do see the similarities in those 2 reversals and this present spot…and that is a plus for PMs

     My biggest concern is that was an important downtrend line the Dollar took out ( on this long term log chart)

     It could prove strong support

     Also the yearly cycles show a cycle low here….of course it may be a feeble bounce..which so far it is.

     Having said all this Gold needs to divorce itself from the influence of currencies …it really should be going up in all of them.

   As of now, I think $USD will backtest the LT trend line then begin rallying again. Not going to happen quickly though, 6 months plus.
