The Forgotten Precious Metal
Is Palladium really a Precious Metal ?
It has always seemed to march to its own drummer.
Have you ever seen a Palladium Bar ? Indistinguishable from a Platinum Bar
Well…while we all have been watching Gold and Silver…this “precious” metal has been doing just fine under the radar.
Apparently its main industrial use id as a catalytic converter ( to clean automotive exhaust)
Anybody know what else it is used for ?
I always thought of Palladium as a poor mans Platinum. But right now Pall is approaching Plat in price and may surpass it
Interesting ?
Chemistry – as a catalyst in organic synthesis across the board, e.g. Isowurtzitanes etc..
I suppose the question is what will happen to the price as the production of Diesel cars falls due to pollution issues?
New petrol and diesel cars are planned to be phased out entirely in the UK by 2040. Government legislation is being drawn up.
platinum was used in the diesel catalytic converters and plat price in da dumpster big time
