I have read that contrary to propaganda she was quite hated by much of the UK population and rightfully so. Misery, oppression, imperialism, and so forth.
I am one of the 1st to decry some of the bad things from here in the US, but, really, it is pretty disgusting to still prostrate one’s self to the world’s preeminent white trash family.
Last time I went to the PDAC they had some thing where you were supposed to stand up and wave hankerchiefs or some sort of degrading thing to demonstrate one’s fealty to these filth. Quite the turnoff.
Most have no idea why its a holiday, and would not question it, as its a day off work, on full pay.
Victoria was a product of her time (she had no choice really but to get on with the job with the real power being with the men of the time, as with the current Queen of the UK when she had to ascend to the throne) but still like Mrs T, she was a strong lady fulfilling a difficult role surrounded by useless men.
Compare her to the current crop of vile politicians and those we have seen since her time lining their own pockets and that of big business. Shall I name a few, Nixon, Bush x 2, Clinton, T Blair, Mitterrand, Putin, etc etc, I could fill a page with the worthless pocket filling scum from all over the world. Oh I forgot Kim!

Apologies for the previous post as I am not a royalist, but if you have a go at the monarch of the UK, then you first need to understand our history and the fact that the role they fill is a thankless one that they have no real choice over. I would not take it on for all the tea in China (oops showing my age). Its like being a rock star with no drugs and no rock and roll lifestyle 🙂
