Me too so spent some time on otto IKN site instead. He brings up a point that Justina Trudeau said Canada will not help Mexico fight nafta changes with Trump. Mexico retort back was screw you too then Justina and we shall stop being so nice to your mining companies down here. Sobering food for thought if ya got stuff there.

Thanks Justina, me going to get my stocks outta there, every man for himself ! Viva le Revolucion.
I believe the situation w/ regard to Canadian companies in Mexico is analogous on a smaller scale to the larger question of ?Trump?.
We do not know how things will play out yet. Among other things, we do not know how much astute grand mastery + graciousness there might be behind bluster and bluff. On the other hand, the sentiment that if you hope for nothing you won’t be disappointed might prove far too optimistic.
One can clearly see from sites like IKN that many Canadian companies do horrible things in Mexico to Mexicans (as well as often to their shareholders). “Otto” notes that Trump says he wants to put an extra “F” in NAFTA for “Fair.” If one wants to be optimistic one can imagine promulgation of good practices in Mexico that are great in the long run for everyone even if there’s short term turmoil.
On the other hand, disaster beyond this short and intermediate term pessimist’s vividly gruesome imagination is plausible.
Many intermediate scenarios are possible, including if we are somewhat likely some sort of all-around benign corruption. This would go with the rosy scenario whereby Trump wants and gets a proliferation of benign nationalism everywhere, where everyone makes nice deals.
We will see. Personally I intend neither to buy nor sell Mexican stuff at this point. As always, at the hint of any news that a company is being sleazy to its employees or shareholders or is making people unhappy, I sell. Ditto to the environment (I try to avoid radioactive stuff for example).
