That gap is a result from UUP gapping its then resistance line of its large bull flag/channel, which is obvious on the chart of UUP posted in this recent post here (black line):

I think we have a few more days to go here in these moves, for many reasons, so $USD down and $GOLD up for a couple of days more I would say.
I think we need to see $GOLD circa 1240 before we pull back. And the $USD will probably be further from my neckline before it bounces a little and then continues to circa 97.
