down 40%
This is why we hold 40 Rocks or so at 2% to 4% each
Spock had already sold this one a while back
I didn’t

40 Rocks! Jeez Louise! That is a lot of stocks to manage!!!! If you are Trading that is a Bad move even as a full-timer. If Investing, then it’s a non-issue…and hopefully you have diversification Outside of precious metals. Yikes!
Nope…Actually 50 Rocks…and thats IT
Holding most for an intermediate trade…when things get dicey I hedge with HGD
Up 120% in 7 months so far
Its not much different than buying a Mutual fund
Except one has complete control of the components
I have sold 10 already …no problem with liquidity…and bought others with the proceeds
Some doubles I sell 50% and just go cash , trying to keep close to the original $ input.
This is what we are doing with this sector. To each his own.
Consider Plunger’s posts, where he suggests that this may be the first part of a large move of a bull market, from where things are clearly undervalued (at least in retrospect) to where they come to a saner value–much higher than even here. Consider also any public charts by Spock in keeping with this concept that show how “thin” the air is above the current zone for PM stocks, but especially the little ones, and especially if their prices are divided by the price of the metal(s). Or consider similar charts by Fully in keeping with Plunger’s concept.
If–and it’s an important if–one believes the concept of an ongoing massive but generally unpublicized rise to be correct, and one can have capital tied up in dozens of stocks that one looks at a couple of times a week (very bare minimum–preferably at least daily), then it is rational to have this approach. There can be pitfalls. Brokerages fail. One has crazy things in one’s personal life and finances one does not anticipate (I’ve been there). Zombies or Big Meteor. I wish I knew. However if the hypotheses are correct, it is a rational strategy if you can discount oddball events.
What happens after something like the end of this stage (if the scenario is correct) is unclear, once the stocks get more fully valued–and better known? Does one own dozens of crazy stocks when they become increasingly owned by jittery little speculators who have suddenly jumped on after super hype jobs and get panicked with big market swings? I wish I knew. I don’t know what I will do when we get there, but I personally think we do get there.
I reduced my position on Orezone significantly after Spock sold, but still hold some. I’m tempted to dump the rest now, since it may be dead money for a while. Any thoughts?
I sold Simon
usually these things take a while to recover
Was lucky…I still had almost a double even after today
