   Price discovery not making sense is starting to make perfect sense.

   Thank you very much, as always. Very interesting, and to me a surprise how strong the correlation.

   If the relationship is causal, and I suppose it is, a hypothesis (maybe much the same thing as washer’s comment?):

   What with nutty and abusive way the central banks and other bigshots are arranging things, investing in car repair, house repair, and health makes sense. After that nothing is an obvious sound bet, but it makes some sense to use the stock market as a somewhat fungible proxy to buy Stuff. Many of us here prefer certain kinds of Stuff most people would consider eccentric (such as actual really tangible shiny Stuff, or rather stocks in it). Other people, naive to PMs, see much of the rest of the stock market at large as the nearest thing to Stuff. The central banks try to force people out of cash, and so people who might save in cash go elsewhere, to the stock markets or real estate–though the stimulation may not help the economy at large.

   In any case, thanks again for the chart. Fascinating, this correlation, a revelation to me.
