BAA: Cup & Handle Breakout

   I’ve never heard of a “nested” cup and handle formation….the chart you have isn’t showing any cup and handle formations…the formation is a failed formation if the price doesn’t rise after the handle is formed

     The term “nested” is not an official technical term per se, but most TA traders understand it to mean, for example – cup & handle pattern where the handle is itself a smaller cup & handle formation. this also happens often within H&S formations as well, where the right shoulder itself consists of a smaller H&S pattern.

     sorry i have to disagree with you again. you write that “the formation is a failed formation if the price doesn’t rise after the handle is formed.”

     uh…yeah – that’s exactly what i am pointing out today – the simultaneous upside breakout (rising price) of the larger and smaller handle…thus, the opposite of what you describe as “failure”… 🙂

       Sorry, but there is no handle–a two day handle does not qualify and there is no cup….anyway let’s just agree to disagree and call it good

         a “two day handle doesn’t qualify”? what on earth are you talking about?

         the small handle that i show breaking out today was NINE WEEKS in the making – not two days! where do I show a “two day handle” breaking out anywhere in any of the charts? (hint: nowhere, but check the weekly chart if you are still so lost and confused as to think i would waste my time charting a “two day handle” breakout).

         lol! perhaps you are more familiar with a different kind of “cup & handle”, which you may need to lay off a bit, because you are missing the obvious and seeing things that just ain’t there! 🙂
