A chart of this duration is best displayed in LOG form (% moves rather than Numerical)
Fully, This chart also clearly illustrates the USD’s 15 Year Cycle. Cycle High to High is clearly 15-16 years. 😉

I agree. These cycles also go right back to 1971 I think. 1971-79 bear market, 1979-1985 bull market, 1985-1992 bear market, 1992-2001 bull market, 2001-2008 bear market 2008-2016 bull market(?).
Also the log chart thing is probably important. The breakout looks bigger on a linear chart. Log chart is much less bullish than linear chart.
the first thing I see is a fractal that looks very much alike, the one on the right hasn’t run up yet.
Fully, relatively new here to charting – more of a weight of the evidence guy. So, my charting skills other than KISS are very limited to say the least. What are the benefits of the log charts esp as you suggest for this chart here? I was tracking GDXJ per Spocks trade the plan idea and using linear. My GDXJ chart said $38 was the likely interim top. We reached $39. So, as you can see, I am struggling as a newbie to understand log charts. Thanks, Gary
Here’s the chart I was using to track Spock’s plan. I used linear which got me to $38 using the same timing. Then added the $45 level for monitoring the move. All of this is to try and understand log chart value.

Linear is the default for most of us
But you should always check both
daily …Linear is fine
weekly …check both
monthly ….log is more valid
all imho
LOG tracks % moves which when it all comes down to it…is all that really matters
