For earnings stick with the mid-tier and small caps, as the large caps have balance sheet issues (debt and lots of it). For example, SMF.TO, NST:ASX and others there. Look for lowest PE ratios. NST pays a regular dividend by the way.
But Newcrest and Newmont and SBGL for the large caps, but remember the bond holders get their cut from any earnings first. NEM Moodys rating is below investment grade for their bonds….not junk, but lower grade.
Newmont’s senior unsecured debt is Baa2… that’s investment grade.
I don’t know what the real number is, but that SBGL number is wrong. Its probably closer to 1$.
