Newmont NEM’s Free Cash Flow Yield has never been higher in its entire history
I know I have been pounding the table on Newmont. This chart says it all. I have been combing through the miners and NONE of them are as cheap as Newmont. Newmont’s FCF yield is higher than it was at the height of the bull market. They are also continuing to build mines. Miners can go free cash flow positive if they just cut everything to the bone and sell their gold, but Newmont is building a major mine in Suriname and a minor one in the US. The stock has never ever been this cheap according to nearly every single metric that I can find. Gary Goldberg, the current CEO is simply the best in the business and this stock is going much much higher even if gold doesn’t rally.
Very interesting post. Nice to have a colleague here that also do posts about specific companies. I am glad you found this place.
Thanks for the post. Looking for more these posts in 2016 and beyond. We need your expertise. Charts are fine but the fundamentals need to be behind the charts. I do own NEM but looking ro add.
Yes, thank you….looks like NEM has gone down 71.07% in 5 years…had a high of $72.42 and a low of $15.39 so it does look like a great time to buy! What’s the free cash flow yield from 2000 to 2015?
Hi Carolyn… the chart above is graphing just that. Higher is better. The highest FCF yield it has had in the past 15 years other than today is 8 percent at the end of 2001. And we all know what happened over the next decade on that one.
