   If the Euro is indeed only just starting Phase II of its bear market which is how I am seeing it right now, there could be a lot of upside for the US dollar index in terms of time and value. I need to work on this and study much further.

   However the top in the US dollar would be due after about an 8 year bull market. I read this as happening between 2016 and 2019 on the basis of previous cycles. I am wondering if the deflationary conditions similar to the 1930s mean that the 45 year dollar chart since 1970/71 is now irrelevant and might no longer be in the bearish stance with lower lows in its bear cycles since 1971. Maybe the dollar is moving into a 40 year uptrend and the falling wedge in the USDX since 1985 might have broken out to a target of 160. This seems outrageous but surely looks possible to me. This would fit in with the above where we might be only 1/3 the way through a secular bear market in the Euro.

   Target of USDX is about 118 or whatever from my reading too. I am looking for the 62% level of gold at $890, also the 1980 futures high as a possible target. My curved channel bottom at $1000 comes first. It would give beautiful symmetry to the gold chart over 35+ years to go to $890. However, I wonder if it can actually go lower than that. $1180 is now resistance, so gold is now into yet another lower trading range.
