According to a Charleston Police Department incident report, a “note” was discovered near Barnett’s body “with what appeared to be a silver handgun in his right hand, resting on his lap, and his right pointer finger still remaining on the trigger.”
Again, was it his gun or not? Basic data point.
And the note, was it his handwriting or not? That might take longer to confirm.
Was he right handed?
Had he lived and had his information been helpful as a whistleblower for the DOJ then the guy would have stood to get one of the richest whistleblower payouts in US history. Its doubtful he killed himself with a mega-millions payday coming some day down the road.
