I’ve driven that area a handful of times.
Almost no trees, windswept, and SE of there you find a constant smell of natural gas in the air.
Odd time of year for a prairie fire, but they get them and there’s nothing to stop them if the winds pick up.
Drought monitor does NOT show the area as dry though.
