He urged that to prevent this future scenario, the allies must ramp up support to Ukraine and member states must invest in NATO military infrastructure. “Deterrence only works if it is credible. As long as we invest in our own security and remain united, we will continue to deter any form of aggression,” Stoltenberg said.
Stoltenberg’s latest words on Putin’s motives and intent contradict his own prior assessment. Back in September during a speech at the EU Parliament’s foreign affairs committee, Stoltenberg very explicitly explained that Putin made the decision to invade Ukraine because of fears of NATO expansionism.
These prior words implied Russia saw itself as acting defensively in Ukraine. And yet now Stoltenberg claims that Putin fundamentally has an expansionist war in mind that will eventually see more European countries come under direct threat.
These clowns have shit for brains. Russia has no designs on an imperial dynasty, no designs to invade or attack anyone. Every concern and problem that Russia is trying to solve lies in Ukraine and the elite dopes in USA and Europe. Well, you can throw the clowns in Canada in there, too

I am no historian, but my understanding from way back is that Ukraine was given her freedom by Russia on the condition Ukraine never puts NATO, or any other force like NATO, on any common Ukraine/Russian border. If that is the case, then the obvious aggressor is NATO, and Ukraine has violated the treaty. If that is not the case, someone please correct me. Thanks!
From Putin’s interview it’s kind of obvious how this could get de-escalated.
Buffer states (maybe some, not all) between old NATO and Russia declare neutrality (with some agreement/enforcement barring the presence of CIA/KGB influence), a no-encroachment pact made – Russia does not ‘claim’ any Ukrainian territory and it remains likewise neutral – a monument gets erected to memorialize the near million (unnecessary) dead on both sides, name it – “Let’s go Brandon”.

I imagine this could drag on as long as the Ukranians are able to drag people off the streets and throw them into the grinder. The US plans on funding this to infinity. If these assholes in the US govt. have the stones to try to put a provision in a bill which would impeach a president for trying to get a peace deal you have to know we are all fucked. They want to make sure funding never stops. You have an invading army in the US that gets bigger every day and if a state tries to close the border the feds try to stop them. This just gets worse by the day.
