Harrowing experience this morning crossing into the US
All we wanted was to get some groceries at Trader Joes……complete story in first comment
Poor Hudson was traumatized, as was his mother (me).
We bought him a tub of biscuits to try and make up for it. He will also be getting a dose of Ivermectin tonight after being forced into a filthy cage.
I am NOT going back to the US until that despicable Biden Administration is removed from office 🙁
Columbia and I both have NEXUS cards. We just wanted to take our dog to a nice park in Bellingham and then make a stop at Trader Joe’s.
We pulled up to the border crossing on I-5. Miserable cunt of a border guard glared at us and demanded to know why we were crossing there. Practically yelling at us the entire time, she demanded us to roll windows down, then asked Columbia if “he had ever been told to go inside the border office”.
He thought back and said yes, once, several years ago.
She then told us in no uncertain terms that “someone with the same name as you is up to no good, so you will have to go over there and be screened inside the building”.
I assumed that I could wait outside with our elderly dog. No such luck. She pointed at me and said “you’re going inside too, and your dog is going in a crate”.
We pulled over, and an equally miserable and hostile border guard demanded “roll your windows down, leave your keys in the car, get your dog in that crate and get inside”.
I was terrified by this time, and I didn’t want to leave Poor Hudson unattended. But the guard was pointing his finger at the building and glaring at us.
Once inside, we were directed to “line A”. There was also a line B and a line C, both of which had about 30-35 people apiece. I am not being racist here, but there was only one other couple in Line A and they were the same colour as us. No one else was.
After 10 min of waiting, we were called up. The guard at the desk asked why we were here and we told him. After about 15-20 min of him searching something on the computer, he stamped a form and said we could go.
Columbia asked him “can you tell us why we were detained like this?” and he said he couldn’t figure out why. I told him that the bitch outside (no, I didn’t call her that out loud) said that Columbia’s name apparently matched up with a felon, and he said “no, I didn’t see anything like that when I looked you both up”.
Once outside, our poor dog was so upset that he’d drooled and wee’d all over the crate. Too bad he didn’t dump a load too, for the pricks to clean up.
Perhaps of greater interest was what was happening while we were waiting. The guard next to where we were standing was processing people from “Line B and C”.
I watched as assorted parties came up and proferred their passports. Jamaica. Phillipines. Haiti. Asia. Africa. No Canadians. On a couple occasions, the guard would be processing a group of 3-4 and ask the person who spoke English “how are you three related”. The answer was “we’re not. I just picked these two up at the Vancouver airport and am bringing them across”. The guard then said “You want Visas?” and snapped a photo, rubber stamped a form, and said “here you go”
Meanwhile, 2 seniors, NEXUS card holders who have been vetted in order to receive NEXUS, are treated like criminals, and have our poor dog shoved in a crate.
We stopped to buy gas en route back to Vancouver. I had some US cash and went inside to pay before pumping. I happened to tell the middle-aged lady behind the till that I am using up my US cash for gas because I’m never coming back into the US again after the way I was treated at the border. She asked what happened, and I told her.
Her face froze and she said “OMG. Did you cross at the Peace Arch?” I said yes, and she said “just these past 3-4 days, I am hearing horror stories from Canadians about their treatment at that border”. She wondered if there had been some sort of directive given to harass people.
Well, they certainly weren’t harassing anyone who was from anywhere else…..
Never again. I love going to Trader Joes, and was hoping to make these shop trips a regular thing, but I’m not going thru that again 🙁
“Miserable cunt of a border guard glared at us and demanded to know why we were crossing there.”
I would have lost my cool right then.
Don’t know if Tader Joes has a website for online ordering, if so maybe that will work until Trump gets back in.
No, they don’t; they have a website but there’s no on-line ordering 🙁
Gawd. First I was trapped in shithole Canada because FJB wouldn’t let the purebloods across for over 3 years. Now that I can cross, I’m subjected to abuse and hostility from the border guards. So I’m essentially trapped here again. Well, at least this time I can fly across the Atlantic…..
Holy Molars Guys this is Disturbing to the maximum
Unreal
Sorry you had to experience this and poor Hudson .
sheesh !!
