The Biden administration unveiled a regulatory proposal late Friday targeting water heaters, the latest in a string of energy efficiency actions cracking down on home appliances.
The Department of Energy (DOE) said its proposal would ultimately “accelerate deployment” of electric heat pump water heaters, save Americans billions of dollars and vastly reduce carbon emissions. If finalized, the proposed standards would force less energy efficient, but cheaper, water heaters off the market.
In addition to water heaters, over the last several months, the DOE has unveiled new standards for a wide variety of other appliances including gas stoves, clothes washers, refrigerators and air conditioners. The agency’s comment period on a separate dishwasher regulatory proposal concluded Tuesday.

Every action causes and equal and opposite reaction.
THEY act and we come up with a solution .
My “observation” is that by the time “we come up with a solution” the damage has already been done.
TPTB know (and have tested) that it takes multiple years of working through the justice system to have their dictates reviewed and struck down. The faster they move the more destruction they can wield upon our world while the populace has proven they are not ready to stand and defend their rights. This, in turn, emboldens those that would harm ordinary citizens in order to strengthen their own power.
So you may be right that eventually we “come up with a solution” but it’s been too late to save the western world (no longer democracies with different rules of law dictated by caste).
Of course it’s all concerning BUT Human need and Ingenuity will alwyay trump Cretinic Dictates
I bet we will still be using water heaters and gas stoves and all that stuff in the decades to come
My toilets still flush , my lightbulbs still work ..they have been at this a long time
