Presently camping in the BC wilds. Serviced lot with showers and facilities to please GMG, ha!

We are experiencing wildfire smoke from afar.
C & C had commented regarding the early fire season.
Vast areas of BC, from the Coastal range to the Rockies are very dry with lots of forests. Once the snow melts, the ground is very dry. The nature of the soil there.

An example. I had up to 2m of snow on my lawn and within few weeks it was gone just due to normal sun exposure and temps. Had a few very warm days interspersed with the cold. Now my lawn is greening up but very little moisture. Very dry. Normal. I don’t water as the lawn goes dormant at some time in the Summer. The joke is that if you spit on the sidewalk in the heat of Summer it never reaches the ground. Also, the terrain is not level and water tends not to accumulate and runs away. It’s dry already. Earlier than normal for sure.

BC has a program called FireSmartBC. Grants to districts to clear the undergrowth of dead brush near populated areas. Been around for awhile.
Lightning strikes and human activity cause the fires.
There are more people in the backcountry as the time passes, maybe Gates has the right idea. LOL
More people expanding into the forested areas the more chance of a human source of fire. Nothing can be done to prevent lightning strikes.

We were just discussing the possibility of Climate Crazies (Activists) setting fires. Yes, I do worry about that. It would feed their agenda. Although the resources wasted on fighting the fire never bothered them. The air pollution as well. Sort of like the Proxy War in the Ukraine. Huge source of carbon based fuels being expended. Think about that next time you feel guilty taking your F350 out for a weekend spin.

Fires are part of nature. The indigenous people knew they were part of life. Regenerative in nature when things are out of balance. Similar to when bat-shit crazy governments try to force unnatural changes on a population. It will revert and regenerate.

My rant for the day!
