Judge Blocks Florida ‘Anti-Woke’ Law, Calls “Positively Dystopian”
“The First Amendment does not permit the State of Florida to muzzle its university professors…”
In a 139-page order issued Thursday, Tallahassee U.S. District Judge Mark Walker slammed Republicans, and blocked it from taking effect in the state’s public universities.

WOKE JUDGE….Needs to be “Investigated by DeSantis and team
Not so fast. Judge has a point. How DO you balance freedom of speech, in public schools and universities …. with a governor’s right to set policy based on constituents’ values?
If these restrictions are imposed, the same precedent could then later be used in the opposite direction at a later date.
I think I would prefer full transparency, and require teachers/profs to give explicit declarations on controversial topics (fire them if they hide their stances). Let the Woke profs declare themselves, then give students and parents the freedom to choose.
States set the content that is taught in the public school system. If a professor chooses to go far afield and teach junk, he is so entitled AFTER he teaches the truth. As in facts.
Key course missing from all curriculum is logic/philosophy. It teaches kids/students how to think and how to examine an idea to determine if it is logical or not, valid or not. Without learning how to think students are susceptible to every stinking lie ever invented by satan.
Plus, if I was Desantis, I’d tell that idiot judge to go fuck himself. It violates the state’s responsibility to teach truth to its citizens, not lies and evil.
It’s called non-compliance – or, how to give the finger to the judge. Like the judges have been giving us the finger for decades.
Right…lets see how Desantis handles this
He fired a prosecutor recently for derilect of duty
Difference is that that Tampa DA was ignoring the law.
In this case, the judge is respecting the First Amendment, and says the law is unconstitutional.
RDS probably needs other means for thinning out the Woke within the Florida bureacracy but I’m not sure how to pull this off. Especially for the tenured.
The most obvious solution is to do what AZ is trying to do, greatly expand parents’ choices regarding schooling options. BUT … ultimately, selecting your TEACHERS is the ultimate answer. Even in university, that isn’t a given, although you can drop a bad prof (if you know early enough) then try hard to pick up another for the term so you stay on schedule. OR … always register for an extra class then always drop one.
Screw That…Anyone teaching this shit should be tarred and feathered …fuck em
