A totalitarian always demands that you agree with everything in the party line. Russian righteousness is part of the totalitarian party line. I disagree with it. I do agree with many things on this site but I believe Putin is a mass murdering, totalitarian dictator.
And he has met his match in Ukraine. Did you see that long lineup of Russian vacationers exiting Crimea? The airport was blown up by Ukraine and numerous Russian military planes were destroyed. Russia has been bogged down for 171 days in Ukraine. It has lost over 40,000 soldiers and a massive amount of military equipment.
It is floundering around with madman Putin giving suicidal orders.
North the fact that your spouse is Ukrainian has so influenced your perspective that you are unable to see anything in this arena with any form of objectivity. Why don’t you just give it a rest…

In a related vein, I know have a Russian friend who was very close friends with a Ukrainian citizen. They live in the same building in a European country. They did everything together, travel eat out etc. Since this war they hardly even speak with one another and it’s not the Russian’s fault as politics have not entered into any discussion and the Russian friend hasn’t said anything about the war or of course had anything to do with it. It is very much like my situation with the US funding and supporting this war. I don’t have anything to do with it nor can I do anything about it. I think it best for you North to just let it go man. How is this improving your life or helping you move forward?

The Crimeans voted to secede from Ukraine.
