They’re trying to cover up the danger of the vaccines for as long as possible now. ADE will show up first in asymptomatic infection rates because that’s the most common form of infection in people. It will next show up in the mild symptom category because those infections are less common than no symptoms but more common than the severe type. The least common but most important group are the severe symptoms but confirming ADE in that group will take longest of all because of the much lower incidence of severe symptoms with covid.
That the reason for the illogical statement made in the quote above, that the vaccinated may be more vulnerable to mild infection and transmission than the unvaccinated but still, for lack of any credible reason, still at an advantage to the unvaccinated in the area where it matters the most, hospitalization and death.
It’s subtle, but I think you can see how clearly now they’re lying about the vaccine. Confirmation of ADE is the panic button. When it becomes widespread knowledge the whole vaccination fraud is exposed: vaccination is bad for you, not good for you, and your government forced it on you.
And like Fully is saying, the health of the unvaccinated group is the only thing exposing it. They quickly injected the control group after the trial period was over in the original vaccine trials last summer for the same reason. This is what a control group is for: a reality check, a standard of normalcy from which to measure the changes in health of the vaccine group. This group is still about one third in many countries that are hoping to vaccinate their entire population.
It might sound like Offit is talking about covid variants and saying that the vaccines don’t protect as well against the infection and mild symptoms that they produce. But the variants are just as new and different to the vaccinated as well as the unvaccinated. He’s trying to deal with the soon to be alarming fact that the vaccinated will be not as well protected as the unvaccinated against infection and mild symptoms. It’s subtle but I think it’s there.
