   Often the comments are just self-indulgent hot air.

   You might not have liked the site so much when it was largely devoted to the last big UK election. It was heavily pro-Labor, but lots of complaining why Corbyn wasn’t defending himself enough and then complaining that maybe the election was rigged with postal votes (by the way, could that happen elsewhere in November, 2020????). Lots of emphasis on the benefits of nationalizing everything.

   They periodically run pieces by some guy who grew up in the USSR or a satellite, whose father was executed by the authorities for some thought-crime or other and whose mother I think may have gotten into big trouble too for bad-think. Nevertheless he has written that it is ok since they rehabilitated his father posthumously and put up a statue of him. This guy writes great pieces of photojournalism documenting how horrible things are in certain parts of the world controlled by the US and how wonderful elsewhere. Off-guardian readers just gushed and gushed over a video documentary he did on how wonderful life is in North Korea. Perhaps I am too close-minded, but I did not feel like watching much of that video. Maybe I would have gushed too if I had studied it, but I don’t think so.

   But you should know that what you see is only one part of off-guardian.

   They also feature James Corbett, whom you probably do like.

   So look, think, study, withhold full judgment.

   This piece is now on Zero Hedge.

   I never joined ZH because I find many things about it repulsive, but above all, by far and away, the comments in the comment sections about wanting to kill and otherwise do violence to one’s political opponents.

   Nevertheless, I used to once in a while write ZH to suggest items to run in hopes of raising the level of discourse and intellect. I suggested a CJ Hopkins piece. They then reproduced it. I do not know whether I was responsible, but I had never seen one of his pieces there before. They have repeatedly run his stuff since. Some of his stuff is, in my opinion, not so good, and not as likable by people here as this piece might be. It can get repetitive. I personally always read his material though.

   He was kicked off the leftist and left-liberal site counterpunch.or for not having TDS. In fact he has had many pieces satirizing TDS. His stuff can also be found on unz. He is I think supposed to be considered a very bad person for being on unz.com.

   Probably more background than you want.
