Bitcoin
Has anyone here ever used Bitcoin for any transactions in the last year?
Me, I prefer tulip bulbs, but, then, I’m not the strongest seed in the soil.

Hi Music Man !
I used Bitcoin (as well as XRP or LTC) more than once to send some money to my cousin in Mexico. Fast, cheap, secure and without asking permission to anyone (especially to my bank).
Instead of making silly comments on Bitcoin you should take some time to educate yourself; otherwise you will loose a great opportunity.
Since january my cryptoportfolio is up some 1200%. Where do you find these kind of returns ?
Open a BTC wallet, put your address in the comment and I will send you 10$ worth of bitcoin to get you started. Later on you can give me back some of your profits if you want.
Good luck and God bless.
There are many wallets out there. I have Multibit wallet. Long time ago one guy gave me $1 bitcoin. That bitcoin is still sitting in the wallet.
Your advise to musicman is good one.
Need a post for every one how to buy and store CC? Like which exhcange, wallets etx.
Thanks.
Hi Bikoo99, I stopped posting since there was only little interest on the topic on this site and since it takes a lot of work / time.
If you leave me your e-mail address or phone number in the comment, I will send you some material via mail or whatsapp.
Thanks foe reply.
I do not worry about response here. I just keep sharing my t notable thoughts for benefit of many silent readers who read. Many do not post but do benefits from the site.
I do not know how to send personal message. sdsk2000@yahoo,com
Thanks. I’ll mull that over!
The bitcoin atm is simple to use. Cash in, get coupon code for when you need to take out anywhere. Not good for e commerce but can get the funds out in any amount from any other bitcoin atm on the planet .Impressive.
I never comment here but I am going to comment on this.
It may come as a shock but YOU CAN OWN BOTH BITCOIN AND GOLD.
I constantly read goldbugs ( I am a serious gold investor since 1996 ) bashing bitcoin. WAKE UP.
Bitcoin or some variation of it is without a doubt the future of money.
Bitcoin can do a lot of things that gold cannot.
Gold will always have a role or at least will have a role for the foreseeable future.
I have probably 20 X more invested in gold and gold miners than I do in Bitcoin
but I cannot imagine anyone who understands gold and the reasons to own it not having at least some Bitcoin.
Good point Swannmex. I totally agree.
Yes, gold and bitcoin aren´t antagonists. Gold is also decentralized money (while you have it in your hands). Can they frozen your gold? Your bitcoins? Your dollars? They can froze your dollars (only).
I becoming more and more convinced that Bitcoin stealing golds wind. We are in paradigm shift.
Great article by MacroTourist today:

From article:
Blockchain technology may have just permanently disrupted traditional currencies. It’s obvious to me that even if this is true, we will not know it for sure until decades have gone by.
“Bitcoin or some variation of it is without a doubt the future of money.”
Probably so. More likely emerging out of ETH rather than BTC, since BTC seems unable to handle real world transactional scaling. (Long delays before transactions are confirmed as completed.)
There’s also considerable evidence that there is a substantial amount of fraudulent cross trading by parties holding multiple accounts that artificially inflate the value of ICOs to generate the momentum that other parties then falsely assume to be signifying real demand.
In the long run though, this can be very disruptive (in a positive way) by reigning in the ability of CBs to counterfeit fiat without restraint. Ironically, the emergence of a bitcoin ETF may seal its fate in that regard, as it would permit orchestrated naked selling of “paper” BTC, as we’ve seen with GLD, to conceal the real amount of competitive pressure BTC actually represents on that front.
Bitcoin, like everything in the crypto world is a work in progress. As with all cutting edge, disruptive technologies, it is impossible to predict the winners and losers early on.
Bitcoin has a huge head start and huge adoption worldwide.
Will it wind up the winner? No one knows but it is for sure the “gold standard” in the crypto space at this point.
So, IMHO, if you are going to be involved in what is a world changing technology, Bitcoin is the place to start.
My wild assed guess at this point is ETH will be a winner in the smart contracts, business space…… coins like Litecoin and Bitcioin cash will be winners in the everyday transaction “buy a cup of coffee” space and Bitcoin “original” will become digital “gold” and be used mainly as a store of wealth and a way to transfer large sums of money seamlessly.
No one really knows of course but crypto in one form or another is coming for sure and I cannot imagine not having a stake in the game.
If you want to know which way the wind blows read this:
“The Head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev has stated that the BRICS may opt to create their own cryptocurrency for the purposes of global commerce.”
“While the US Dollar remains the most popular global trading and reserve currency, this is rapidly changing. A BRICS backed cryptocurrency may be both the proverbial ‘Dollar buster’ as well as a ‘sanctions buster’.”

gold will certainly prosper as well…..

Hard to imagine not owning both gold and Bitcoin IMHO…. but to each his own.
Good luck to all of us.
Thanks.
I don’t own any bitcoin, but might be interested in buying shares in a bitcoin mining company if one ever gets listed on the NYSE.
Agree with most of the commentary here. Neil, there is already a bitcoin mining company – MGTC, owned and (until recently) operated by John McAfee. Look more into it.
There’s also a trust that holds only bitcoin. GBTC. But beware, it trades at a hefty premium to book value. People seem to be willing to pay it in order to get some into their tax free Roth IRAs! Also beware, if you own it on friday, and bitcoin tanks 30% over the weekend, you’re stuck holding until monday.
Sorry it’s MGTI, NOT MGTC.
Where do find premium/discount for GBTC etf?
Not sure where to find it off the top of my head. Quick google search should do
Usually the bid/ask spread is overpriced based on most of these otc/pinksheets. You’re screwed buying and selling when playing with some otc’s. That’s why I don’t mess around with them any longer, and plus you can’t have a stop… super dangerous with how bit coin behaves. I found this, but its dated: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/34uz3o/the_gbtc_bid_ask_spread_is_almost_3x_the_bid/
Nick: I like that MGTI listing. Thanks for mentioning.
I won’t buy any company that trades strictly over the counter or on the pink sheets. Too many scams.
I bought my flight with bitcoin this summer at Destinia.com
I also got some hundred euros in the ATM here in Europe.

I believe in a decentralized society with no CB´s (callme a dreamer)
Thanks for all your remarks.
Thanks.
