Yes I remember candidate Trump, criticising the current admin… Very different from POTUS Trump (IMO), who has been banging on about an overvalued dollar through various channels for the past few weeks. I expect the FED to challenge him, but I expect that they are not ready yet. Just my opinion.
I say they stand pat as they cannot afford to spook the bond market further (fits their slow and steady MO). Trump seems bipolar – he says dollar is overvalued but then wants the Fed to raise rates (maybe he WANTS to prick the bubble). Forecast – they don’t raise and Trump tweets “The Bubble Continues”. He should really stop taking credit for recent stock market action.
I do not think they want a war with the White House, yet.
Remember during the campaigning Trump said that the fed should have raised rates already and that the economy was a big bubble.

I say they raise:)
They will hold.
The EFFR is at .66 as of 1/30, midway within their target zone.
The Fed follows the market, not the other way around.
Yes the fed follows mkt.
I expect hold.
Just wonder if they will poke trump in the eye.

I guess I am the contrarian or just the stupid one, I think we get a surprise raise. Charts look to me to be lining up for a surprise.
