Thank you. Useful, interesting, important. Stand-out chart posting from my perspective.

If only the data were extremely easy to import to a spreadsheet, preferably w/ data from other currencies as well. It would be fun to chart an average price. I’d probably make several different averages–geometric mean (probably the best), median, arithmetic maybe harmonic mean though they’d probably all look similar. It would be interesting where the average inflection points would be–also whether after averaging the lines became smoother or in fact more jagged (smooth = jaggedness in individual charts from currency oscillations ; increased jaggedness in the average chart = jaggedness probably more from oscillations in Au). (If I were to get compulsive I might weight the averages by some measure of importance of the currency and…)

Or (I am wondering out loud) do you think that dividing US dollar priced gold by the US dollar index or something like that and getting a ratio chart would give similar information to what I was thinking of doing?
