?*COVID NEWS AND COMMENTARY* ?
? It’s just past mid-January, which means that we are looking for the turn in the Omicron spike in Florida, according to the more optimistic projections from legitimate sources, by which I mean ones that don’t depend on federal grant money. The sources that depend on government grant money — mainly, universities and advocacy groups — have been dead wrong nearly every single time they’ve taken a guess, for some reason.
The vast majority of TV and social media “experts” don’t make their own projections. They just repeat whatever narrative that Federal Sugar Daddy has blessed, which would be the previously referenced university and advocacy group models.
Which is why over the last two years I’ve found the independent researchers to be the most accurate at predicting the trends. And in late December, the independents started forecasting that Florida’s winter wave would be tall and thin and could start heading back down in the third or fourth week of January. So. We wait and watch.
? Today, I’d like to think some more about Narrative 2.0, and in particular, the REASON for the shiny new Narrative. For purposes of this discussion, it’s helpful both that it is Sunday (supporters only) and that I am still languishing in Facebook jail (until tomorrow, when I get my stuff back and a bus ticket or something). Anyway, today’s post verges into territory that might get me thrown back in the social media slammer.
THE SUPERFICIAL TAKE
As I explained in detail in my earlier post, my theory about Narrative 2.0 is that Biden desperately needed a win for his State of the Union (SOTU) speech since everything else in the country is headed down faster than a jet plane that just lost its last engine. The notion was it must have been irresistibly tempting to wind it all up and claim victory, since he CAN control all the squishy parts of the pandemic, like cases and deaths, which depend on how much testing we’re doing and how you define stuff.
This makes even more sense after what happened in Virginia’s elections, which strongly suggest there are a lot more people who are fed up with the mandates than people who want the pandemic to last forever. My guess is that democrat leaders live in an echo chamber in D.C. that fooled them into thinking that the whole base agreed with cancelling civil rights and closing schools, so they missed the signals, and Virginia’s election caught them sleeping. Surprise!
So my theory is that the Democrats think that if things aren’t getting better, if the whole country looks like Virginia going into election season this year, then they’ll get shellacked in November, irregularities or no. The political class probably believes, maybe with some justification, that the November vote will primarily be a referendum on Biden. He needs a turnaround, a political defibrillator, something BIG — because his poll numbers right now are at historic lows (https://tinyurl.com/usr95ram).
It’s hard to fix inflation and the supply chain. But the one thing he CAN do, for sure, is end this stupid pandemic and claim the hero’s throne.
It’s a good theory. For a variety of reasons, I’m just not sure it is the WHOLE explanation. Would Pfizer and Moderna and Fauci and Collins and Walensky and whoever’s running the FDA these days instantly cooperate with Biden to help the Dems’ electoral chances? It seems like it would be tough to get everyone on board as fast as it looks like it happened. It might take some negotiating. But if the November elections aren’t a sufficient explanation, then what else could it be?
DOES THE CDC ACTUALLY KNOW ANYTHING?
I — and many others — have often complained about how useless the CDC has been, and how we’ve had to get all our useful data from other countries like Israel and the United Kingdom. The CDC has an $8 billion-dollar budget, but two years in, the agency still can’t seem to provide basic information like how many deaths and hospitalizations are “real” and how many are just asymptomatic positives. Or whether natural immunity is a thing or not. Or whether the VAERS data is reliable or understated or overstated or what. Useless.
It just seems like the CDC is utterly incompetent at its basic job; it’s nothing more than a political tool that springs into action to support whatever Biden wants or needs at the moment. Many folks have written about how the CDC is “throwing away” its credibility — which assumes the CDC had any credibility in the first place. My personal theory is that all the CDC’s “credibility” was mainly accumulated from zombie movies where plucky CDC scientists help find a cure. Not from real life. In real life, what has the CDC actually accomplished? Name three things.
But, is the CDC rotten through and through? Aren’t there still some good scientists washing around somewhere in the bowels of the CDC? What if some real work still happens there, in some cubicle or other? What if the most well-funded public health agency in the world actually DOES collect some useful data into its supercomputers? What if they CAN see what’s really going on — but just pretend like they’re clueless and incompetent because then they don’t have to explain everything?
I don’t think it’s a stretch. I think it is VERY likely that the CDC knows FIRST, before anyone else in the world, what’s really going on. I think the CDC might have BETTER data than anybody. But they only tell the politicians, and then do whatever the politicians say. If the politicians say keep the data quiet, they do it. I could walk you through the logic, but the basic idea is that the CDC works for the executive branch, and a hyper-politicized executive branch will turn an agency like the CDC into a political tool every time.
BUT WHAT DOES CDC KNOW?
The Amicus brief that I helped some scientists file at the Supreme Court a couple weeks ago discussed the Omicron variant and its implications. There was a recurring theme that kept cropping up in the studies about Omicron. It was about something called “negative vaccine efficacy,” which is a term that wasn’t very common, not until recently.
Simply put, the term “negative vaccine efficacy” means when a vaccine INCREASES your chances of getting sick rather than decreases your chances of catching a virus. What’s worse than a vaccine that doesn’t work at all? A vaccine that is a like a virus magnet, making you MORE vulnerable to a disease instead of less vulnerable. It’s just what you DON’T want your fancy high-tech vaccine to do.
And it’s not a new thing. It’s been around for a while. We know all about negative vaccine efficacy. We saw negative vaccine efficacy in the swine flu vaccine in 2009, and that was one of the reasons that vaccine was withdrawn.

Now. Here is a fact: studies coming out of Israel, the United Kingdom, Canada, Scotland, and Denmark are all showing that the vaccines have VERY negative efficacy against Omicron. Not just a little negative. A Danish study showed that fully injected and boosted people were EIGHT TIMES more likely to catch Omicron. That’s 800% MORE LIKELY to get sick than if they were completely uninjected. That’s probably why we aren’t hearing so much about the “pandemic of the unvaccinated” these days.
Dummies.
But it gets worse. The data appears to show that booster efficacy wanes to zero by the 60th day, and then it starts to enter negative efficacy territory by 90 days. Which means folks would need a booster shot every thirty days or so to remain protected. That’s a lot of injections if you plan to keep the whole world boosted. But there’s a good reason why you might not want to do that.
The European CDC announced that every new injection could further damage people’s immune system, making people increasingly MORE vulnerable to the disease. As I write this, the data from Ontario (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/data) shows that over half of ICUs are vaccinated (213 to 195) and three-quarters (75%) of hospitalizations are vaccinated (2,245 to 739). This and similar data suggest that the issue the EU’s CDC warned about may be occurring: immune fatigue.
It takes time for studies to be written, published, and disseminated. What if — as seems perfectly likely — the CDC already had the data and knew all about the trends toward negative vaccine efficacy and immune fatigue in December sometime? If so, they’d have told Biden, who would then have been facing the most terrible possible outcome imaginable.
And don’t forget about the reports from life insurance companies about massive numbers of unexplained excess deaths in the period after the injections started. Several states — including Florida — are beginning to investigate. In Florida, Jeremy Redfern told the Epoch Times that the state is looking for “correlation/causation.” If they find one, it would be devastating.
And, as I’ve noted before, the Pfizer clinical trial data will soon become publicly available. We don’t know what it says, but we know the FDA made a heroic effort to keep it secret. If it was helpful to the Administration’s case, it would already be public.
If it becomes unavoidably obvious that the injections aren’t working, that they are actually INCREASING infections, it would mean the complete failure of Biden’s Covid-19 policy — AND he’d have made it WORSE by mandating all those injections. It would be an unthinkable political disaster.
As we all know, it would take something MASSIVE to get the politicians to give up the control and political benefits provided by the pandemic. So what I’m wondering is: Was Narrative 2.0 initiated because of what the CDC knew in mid to late December? And if so, how bad is it, really?
They HAD to know. They’ve been paying close attention. CNN reported on January 5 that Fauci, discussing the possibility of a fourth booster, said “One of the things that we’re going to be following very carefully is what the durability of the protection is following the third dose of an mRNA vaccine.”
Following it VERY carefully.
CORROBORATION?
If I’m right, it would explain why Narrative 2.0 appears to have been cobbled together so quickly. I can imagine a single classified report written by the CDC and sent to Biden summarizing outbreaks of negative vaccine efficacy, evidence of vaccine fatigue, and the likelihood that excess deaths could be tied to the injections. An emergency meeting is called. Decisions are made. Narrative 1.0 — already on life-support — is jettisoned out the airlock, and Narrative 2.0 is born. They make a call to management at CNN.
If I’m right, it would also explain why the CDC is doing crazy stuff like ending cruise mandates in the middle of an Omicron outbreak. Yahoo’s Jan. 14 headline: “CDC guidance to become optional for cruise lines as COVID continues to spread.” This kind of thing all but guarantees that Rochelle Walensky will be back on TV having to answer difficult questions poorly. Like she did over the reduction in quarantines and cancelling post-quarantine testing.
It would also explain why the sports leagues are eliminating their testing requirements. It’s not a good look for major games to be cancelled just because a few vaccinated players test positive. It makes people feel like things are out of control and MORE mandates are needed, not fewer.
If negative efficacy is true, or even partly true, then Biden has to declare victory as soon as possible so they can start trying to memory-hole the entire pandemic. Shift to therapeutics.
We’ll see!
