Headed to the polls today in an endeavour to oust the arrogant little shithead once and for all. Holy crap. Don’t know who mandated all the anti-germ bullshit, but it was…I am lost for words. Here goes:

We are a ski resort town. People are normally laid back and friendly even at elections. Not this time. No admission to the hotel/conference centre where the election was held unless you are wearing a mask. I forgot mine so waited outside until Columbia came out, then I borrowed his. Upon entry, a young person was stationed as a guard. Mask and full face shield. “Go sanitize your hands first”.

Another attendant was assigned to wipe down all structures close to the hand sanitizer station every 5 min

Well I don’t like that stinky hand sanitizer plus I arrived wearing winter mitts. So I faked it. and was caught by the second “guard”, also dressed in everything save the hazmat suit. He told me 3 times “I saw you and you didn’t sanitize your hands. Go back and do it”. I kept advancing toward him saying “what? I can’t hear you from behind your mask and face shield” until finally, frustrated, he waved me into the next room.

In the next room was another nazi, yelling at people to “stand on the yellow dots and wait your turn” (placed 2 metres apart)

Heaven forbid someone approached the ballot hand-out booth if there was anyone within 6 feet of it. They were admonished in front of everyone.

Disposable pencils. Snarky polling clerks. Guards everywhere to make sure people sanitized their hands and stayed apart.

I left thinking “had I made a movie of this 2 years ago, people would have said to me ‘girl, you have quite an imagination’.” Here we are, and the dystopian regime is now the new normal and very few seem to care. We are all acting like robots.
