Loading ...Interactive Broker Going Bust ?

I would be curious of other people’s experience with Interactive Brokers. Wondering if they’re on the verge of going out of business. I have been trying to contact them about selling XGD.TO since before Christmas. I’ve sent them 4 emails with no replies. I tried to call them a week ago, but gave up after being on hold for one hour. Today it’s been 50 minutes, but I’m staying on the phone until I get a person on the line. It’s PATHETIC. Closing the account after I get this thing sold because of the AWFUL customer service

I wonder whether anyone has had unequivocally **good** experiences with any brokerage. I used to say that Fidelity was good with anything routine but not necessarily with anything out of the ordinary, but it has been down too often recently. On downdetector.com (which has non-US sites) I have seen frequent simultaneous outages for other brokerages. It is hard to judge TD Ameritrade and Schwabb since they are merging, but certainly the former has had its outages recently and I found it not good for non-routine stuff.
Full Gold Crown, I think the point is that you are supposed to have a few million dollars minimum — probably several hundred or thousand times that — and give it to one or two of the really big banks to handle. It is improper to have less. You will have to pay big cuts to international lawyers and accountants to make sure that the banks aren’t cheating you, and to other lawyers to make sure that those lawyers aren’t cheating you too much, but if you keep the proper balance levels and hire the proper facilitators I am pretty sure you will get decent service though of course you have to do your own due diligence. Also it probably helps to go along with the program. OK?
That’s my suggestion for getting better brokerage service.
I left IB about 6 months ago because of bad service. That and the fact that they refused to let me trade KOLD in one of my IRA’s.
