Trump said to have called off planned Israeli strike on Iran, NY Times reports
Comment from Clandestine ( on his an X account )

“I just had to sit and endure months of Libs, anti-Trumpers, and Libertarians, claiming Trump was owned by the Jews and was going to start a war with Iran.
I tried to tell everyone that Trump was just posturing and wants peace, and I was called a Mossad agent, CIA psyop, Trump propagandist, and every other name in the book.
Turns out I was right, and the “muh Jews” people were wrong… AGAIN!
Every single comment section, regardless of the content of the post, was bombarded with imbeciles claiming Trump was going to go to war for Israel, Trump is owned by Netanyahu, the sky is falling, etc. etc.
All of these people need to be swiftly discarded if you have not done so already. A lot of popular accounts and big names showed their true colors recently, and proved they are either not allies, or they have little understanding of the situation and how Trump operates.
Now if we could PLEASE get back to supporting the guy who took a bullet for us and is trying to stop WW3, that would be great!”
The Art of the Deal Explained Clandestine Substack
This “Art of the Deal” stuff is a little tiresome. The only people making deals with Trump are essentially client states of the U.S. – that is to say, friendly nations responding to getting squeezed by big daddy. No doubt, Trump will make some gains in terms of trade, yet it is inevitable that those countries, and their people, will exact what they can from America down the line. Witness the American tourism industry currently being severely impacted in response. After WW2 the U.S. gained significantly from the good will created by dealing fairly, and even generously with other nations. The Marshall plan comes to mind. This strategy could be fairly categorized as the exact opposite.
Where is President Trump’s “Art” when it comes to ending the American inspired Ukraine war? His very powerful bargaining position as an incoming president has been squandered by continuing Biden’s policy of arming and aiding one side. Where is this “Art” when it comes to bombing the Yemenis? Did they do something to America to have the Congress declare war on them? Oh wait, Congress couldn’t find Yemen on a map, so no war has been declared. Trump is following the war monger’s path of ignoring the constitutional provision that it is Congress that decides to make war. Did he change America’s increasingly repugnant policy of supporting Israel’s every horrific act of barbarism against her neighbours? No, he doubled down on that.
So now he’s bargaining with Iran. Well, jaw jaw is better than war war, as Churchill said. I assume someone got to Trump to advise him that the U.S. would likely lose a war with Iran. In the end, as I said in here over a year ago, Trump is likely to sign the greatest deal ever made with Iran. That deal would be essentially the same deal he tore up in his first term.
Trump has a fortuitous moment in time to do great things. I wish him well, but so far he has underwhelmed. The Art of the Deal remains a sale item on the bargain table at your local book store. Sales have probably picked up recently. Deals have certainly not.
The first thing that happens when a deal is in process is the two sides come together and begin to talk.
Under Brandon there was NO Deal to be had as there was NO One talking
Presently we have Trumps People talking with Putin’s people and even the Ukrainians talking with the Russians over a Black |Sea deal
AND Trumps people are talking with Top Iranian people
He’s been in power for a few weeks and already he is eons ahead of the Previous Warmongering Admin.
You would expect the worlds greatest Conflicts to be resolved in a few weeks ?
Biden’s people would be talking too. They pretended they were winning, so as to run their disastrous presidential campaign. Had it worked to re-elect them, they would now be doing the same thing Trump is doing. That is to say, admitting that NATO has lost the war it induced, and now it is suing for peace. Fully, you keep pretending that Trump is winning something. He’s negotiating Amerrica’s defeat, and doing a rather poor job of it.
US-Ukraine mineral deal is back on, to be signed next week
https://nypost.com/2025/04/17/world-news/us-ukraine-mineral-deal-is-back-on-to-be-signed-next-week-trump-says/
This on again off again mineral deal would look better in cartoon form. Trump continues to fund the war, while he cons Americans into thinking that money, and all the rest of the hundreds of billions wasted, will make this ridiculous farce worthwhile. The Ukronazis – these are literal nazis he’s making pretend deals with, after all – then break or abridge the deal, so they can assuage the European nazis – and these are literal descendants of high level WW2 nazis. It’s all a slimy game being played as young men die in industrial quantities.
One further thing; Trump could end the war by halting American money, arms and satellite support to the Ukrainian side. That would be a victory for all, including Trump. It should have been done on day one of his new administration. Indeed, it should have been, and more or less was, a campaign promise. Why aren’t all the Trump supporters calling for that, instead of chanting “Art of the Deal” at even his most ridiculous utterances?
You make it sound so easy…Just defund the War
Trump still has a LOT of Ukrainian Supporters in his Coalition to deal with
Negotiation has to be the first priority …then when it fails
