On a quiet weekend night, I’ll confess what fuels me: the voices of veterans reaching out in my DMs, I’m a disabled woman untouched by the world’s brutality. But it’s a different weight altogether to hear from resilient men—heroes who gave their bodies to wars built on lies. Their sacrifices ignite me, drives me to speak out against the senseless violence they endured and to honor them by fighting for peace.

Wow! As a veteran, hearing such… wisdom and passion…is…words fail me.

You are living and returning the dream to us, our dream, with such innocence and purity that…

What you’re expressing right here and now is what every veteran felt the day they enlisted, what I felt. But we were not met with triumphant fanfare. We were disheveled boys sleeping on the airport floor just looking for a job because we were poor and low on options.

Our passion and dedication for this country came not from what we were given. It came from what we were denied. Only then did we see the potential of freedom. You see what we prayed to see, and now you’re letting the world see.

I also am disabled.

God bless you J. God bless you.
