My active mind is thinking Trump asked Putin on the QT to include this as part of the deal. Then Trump does not have to do the dirty work. Fauci does not have immunity in Russia, Extradition may be a problem.
Trump will present this as required to end this war.

Could he legally claim they succumbed to the hoax?

No Russia had their own, Called the Sputnik vaccine. It didn’t have as many side effects. It is my understanding that Putin knew it was a hoax from the beginning but he knew he needed to go along so they used their vaccine which wasn’t the death shot.
If they have a trial proving everything that happened regarding Covid and all the global deaths and sickness the vaccines caused, Putin gets rehabilitated in the eyes of those who see him as a villain. It also lets Trump and the rest of the world, remove sanctions and allow Russia back into trading with and dealing with the rest of the world without being the pirahna many consider him.
I thought it was too good to be true. Damn!
