IF YOU HAVE A CLEAR SKY
There are stunning views of Venus, Jupiter, and Mars in the evening sky this month.
Look for Venus, Goddess of Beauty, the brightest planet in the night sky, high in the south west after sunset.
Next brightest Jupiter, giant among planets in our system, is nearly overhead in the constellation Taurus, or rising in the east, depending on the hour.
Further East, between Gemini and Cancer is the red planet Mars, God of War!
Use this night sky map to help you orientate. Notice the location is set for Kamloops, BC.
That should work for most BC residents. Eastern residents should set the location to a nearby city.
This sky map will can be adjusted for anywhere on Earth. Grab your binoculars, step outside, and be amazed by our beautiful sky. Happy viewing.

EDIT: I almost forgot, the viewing will be less than spectacular in the city where the night sky is drowned out by city lights. An expedition to the countryside will be in order for best viewing.
My home is located in an area well removed from city lights. My good fortune.
Yes! Saturn, too, will be visible with the others every night this month. They were up there tonight hen I was out.
Maybe with binoculars, but definitely with a telescope, 6 of the planets will be visible on January 21st.
On Feb. 28, all 7 planets will be visible at the same time.
