Ottawa Public Health anticipates existing testing capacity will need to be preserved for essential workers, and in order to protect the city’s most vulnerable populations.
“Ottawa Public Health (OPH) says COVID-19 testing is no longer available for everyone in a timely manner due to a surge in demand, so it’s asking anyone unable to access a test to assume they are infected with Omicron and self-isolate for 10 days from the time their symptoms began.”

Maybe this has to do with the end of the EUA for the RT-PCR test on Dec 31. Canada and the US are moving on to rapid antigen tests. Of course they won’t admit that or people will know how bogus the casedemic was. This way they can keep the fear going for those who still believe.
