Three doses of a Covid vaccine may not be able to curb the rapid spread of the highly transmissible Omicron variant of Covid, warned Ugur Sahin, CEO of Germany-based BioNTech.
“We must be aware that even triple-vaccinated are likely to transmit the disease. It is obvious we are far from 95 per cent effectiveness that we obtained against the initial virus,” Euronews quoted Sahin as saying to the French daily Le Monde on Monday. BioNTech partnered with US drugmaker Pfizer to develop the two-dose revolutionary Covid jab, based on mRNA technology.
So tell me again why we need “passports” ?
Note how he slipped into the conversation “It is obvious we are far from 95 per cent effectiveness” — this is boldfaced mathematical manipulation which is meaningless as this was the “relative” risk reduction which has almost zero to do with effectiveness — the “absolute” risk reduction of the original covid studies between vaxxed and unvaxxed control group was less than 1% (which is essentially zero difference). It was known that the injections would not be effective at stopping transmission and/or preventing infection and the studies were designed to prove nothing more than this miniscule 1% difference. This comment was simply more of the BS and propaganda that the pharmaceutical companies have been selling since day one!!
Good catch K2….BUT the 4th “targeted” injection that will be ready in March will no doubt give comfort to the Masses as 95% will again be marketed !!
