I have mentioned a few times over the last number of months that there is going to be a significant amount of mergers and acquisitions in the mining space. It seems that not a week goes by that I read about another deal. The latest is a small player(Great Bear) but the likes of Kirkland Lake, Pretium and a number of others have been announced in the past few months. While not a timing mechanism, this activity during a long drawn out correction in the metals prices, is a sign. The smart money is not waiting for the next leg up in metals prices, they are adding to their reserves and exploration possibilities while there are bargains to be had, before everyone else begins to bid prices up. Many of the rocks and juniors will be taken out in the next two years. Get them while the getting is good.
