REOPENING: As Ontario hits pause, it encourages regional health bodies to take further steps

Ottawa is seeing rising case counts — 45 new cases and three deaths were reported Wednesday — and a transmission rate above one, which means the virus is spreading in the community.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore said it would be up to local public health units to take further action such as reintroducing pandemic restrictions if they saw cases start to rise sharply.
