Auditor General Michael Pickup reported the write-off on Tuesday in his annual audit of the province’s financial statements.

The audit said the Provincial Health Services Authority, which purchases N95 respirators, surgical masks, gloves and gowns on behalf of all health authorities, wrote off the $66 million because it was either defective or the price it paid for PPE was more than its value. B.C. spent more than $200 million on PPE last year.

NOTE — $66M of $200M total expenditure means that 33% of an entire year PPE purchases were unusable and had to be written off………and they complain about costs all year long!!
