“Canada’s top doctor warns the country could be heading for its first typical flu season since the pandemic began, even as health systems are still battling the fourth wave of COVID-19.
Last year Canada was spared the brunt of flu season thanks to strict public health measures to protect against COVID-19.
Surveillance data from the Public Health Agency of Canada shows higher rates of infection than expected for some of Canada’s most common seasonal viruses, including respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV.
Chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam says a heavy flu season could put extra pressure on already fragile health-care systems.
She says this is definitely not the year to have influenza wreak havoc.
That’s why public health says it will be more important than ever that people get flu shots to avoid complications like pneumonia and protect hospitals from becoming overloaded.”

What a pile of horse shit. I’ve lost count of how many people have said “oh, did you notice we didn’t have any flu last year? It’s because we all wore masks and social distanced”. This doesn’t just come from the populace. I’ve heard it come out of the mouths of people who should know better. Like doctors and pharmacists.
Like…DUH! There was no “flu” last year because every sniffle was “Covid”.
But yes, as always, it will be “oh, we have to get everyone vaccinated against the flu”. Then when the hospitals fill up with whatever is the flavour of the week, it will be blamed on the unvaccinated ( my eyes are rolling)
I’d like to see an independent lab analyze one of the current “flu shots”. I bet it’s not much different than the junk in the “covid shots”. Who would know?
This years flu shots will probably come replete with spike proteins. In the past I took the flu shot. Things have changed.
The Flu shot is ridiculous
Whatever is in it it is useless
Doctors love to give it though
Do they get commission ?
The claim is that they may help prevent the flu but they are guessing what flu type will prevail this year
