Loading ...CANADA — federal public service unions express concerns over government’s call for workers to be vaccinated by end of month
Three of Canada’s federal public service unions representing hundreds of thousands of employees have all expressed concerns over the federal government’s announcement on Oct. 6 that all public service workers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of the month.
“Just to be clear, the policy is as of Oct. 29 that if you want to work for the Government of Canada, which means the people of Canada, you have to be fully vaccinated,” said Ms. Freeland. “The Canadian public service is vast. We are Canada’s biggest employer and so a system needs to be put in place to verify each person’s status.”
“Brian Sauvé, president of the National Police Federation (NPF), which represents around 20,000 members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, said “as we have maintained throughout 2021, consistent with our duty of fair representation, the NPF will continue to support members’ access to vaccines, and their choice to be vaccinated or not.”
“We have also clarified to them the potential consequences of their decisions,” he said in an Oct. 8 statement.
–? So what exactly does it mean when the head of the NPF says they will support members choice to be vaccinated or not YET also says they have clarified the potential consequences of their decision? Sounds like a “we have no intention of fighting for your rights but we want to make sure you know your f***ed”
Maybe they mean they have told the members the consequences of not being vaxxed as in they may get covid and die ?
I think the only solution is a mass Strike !!!
Do they have the balls ?
Yes, I have seen these union heads being interviewed on TV and they seem to be very much in favour of vaccination. And to belabour the point Unions and the NDP are (as you know) very much in bed with each other and the NDP under Singh appears to be just as much in favour of vaccinations as Trudeau maybe even more so. So don’t expect any relief from draconian vaccination rules from our minority government parliament. As far as having the balls are concerned, I expect most are vaxed, so why would they (strike).
