Looney
I am not throwing stones as the progressive idiocy is just as bad here in the US but this is truly, Looney Tunes. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/canadas-national-archive-cancels-countrys-first-prime-minister

Classic behavior in a culture war. Erase the existence of those one disagrees with. But the current “wokies”of course have no flaws, no contradictions, no humility. Disgusting.
Classic shift to communism — destroy links to history/religion and create conditions where the “party” is all powerful. Disgusting that our education standards have fallen to such a level that “post baby-boom generations” in general seem incapable of perceiving what is now being done to our nation!
Fascism may be a better description than communism…….
You are right in noting how difficult it is to describe. Distortion of words and meanings has been a part of it for a long time. It’s not just the old thing of fighting old wars. There has been a deliberate campaign starting perhaps a century ago and rapidly accelerating at highly nonlinear pace in recent years to make any sort of dialogue impossible. Words mean different things to different people, different things to the same person even at different hours. Different people live in different realities with different media (propaganda) imprinted on them. And we don’t even have too many implants yet!!!
The good thing is that we not yell at each other for using the wrong descriptor in the way we don’t like. Describe as precisely as possible, as I think we are doing.
I lecture partly to myself.

I have to go somewhere else so I won’t go into it, but there was a great booklet from a couple of decades ago (prob avail online) by someone who wouldn’t allow himself to be labeled anarchist or marxist but arguably was both who argued that Wilson (Hollywood+repression+command economy), Mussolini, Lenin, Hitler, and others all lifted methodologies from each other. They did not do exactly the same thing but there was lots of borrowing back and forth — looting this or that vilified group and then another vilified group when that didn’t work well enough — this and that propaganda technique — all sorts of distortion of language — lots of use of film and drama and symbolism. Discussing anything clearly was increasingly a victim.
Ultimately they were all rather similar. Control and ownership from the top; lots of distortions. Lenin just tried to have it simpler, the party bureaucracy own it all w/o messy corporations (ie, one Board).
SAD, my condolences (much as I don’t like the Queen) to my Northern Friends.
