A few words of gratefulness
A few words of gratefulness
I’ve been thinking of penning this post for some time now. Finally I realized that one doesn’t have to wait for Thanksgiving to give thanks where thanks is due ๐
Are you guys awesome or what?
Why do I visit this site? I’m a true believer in “that day is a complete waste in which I learned nothing” !
I have learnt so much from each and everyone of you, everyday.
In so many wide-ranging topics, the range having grown lately thanks to Covid, LOL
This is real diversity. Not by physical traits, but by the words we emit. We agree, we disagree, we fight, we lose our temper, we come back to the forum. This is just like a family.
Some of us will make more money, some less. Some are great “timers”, many are great chartists, some love juniors, some love senior miners, some are speculators, some are more conservative investors. But I believe the greatest common factor is all of you are good human beings. Scratch that. GREAT HUMAN BEINGS.
My thanks to all the tenters listed below – those who are missing need to post more often! ๐

You’re a better scribe than I but do agree with and appreciate your sentiments and input
Thank you, Saff! I am already feeling successful in getting one less-frequent tenter to post! LOL!
Well it’s a community, with all of its rough edges and all. Many of us get it totally wrong, but that’s how the market works.
Think of it this way. When I go to a mining conference I always tell myself that just 1 or 2 ideas make the entire exercise worth it. I have made 6 figures off of ideas that I just pick up and internalize. Try doing that on zero hedge
“When I go to a mining conference I always tell myself that just 1 or 2 ideas make the entire exercise worth it. I have made 6 figures off of ideas that I just pick up and internalize.”
Couldn’t agree more!!!
They say, the best things in life are free!
I say, how about learning for free?
Sir Plunger, it takes guts and a very big heart, to impart to the Tenters community, what you have learned at a *paid* mining conference.
Human beings, as they become “professional” (can be viewed as sarcastic, too), think that why should another human benefit from my learning and hard work for free, when I/they spent so much time and/or effort to learn it? But they do not think that teaching can be done for the greater good. Now I don’t want to denigrate those who earn their livelihoods via teaching e.g. Online Trading Academy. But somehow, that “paid” learning comes with so many disclaimers, that it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. That is not to say, that in the most difficult profession of all, viz. making money via trading/investing, everyone has to do their own due diligence.
Duh, even when I was a student at middle/high school and college, the due diligence work-ethic always applied.
But somewhere as one became a “professional” they thought that no, if I have been taught this and that by this and that paid class, then I can just “blame” the class when things go bad.
This made me understand that whether I learn from Jim Sinclair, Jesse’s Cafe Americain, Ron Rosen, Richard Russell, 321gold.com, Bob Moriarty, Adam Hamilton, Stewart Thomson, ZH, kingworldnews.com or even goldtadise.com, and numerous others … when things go bad just look in the mirror and do not repeat mistakes of the past.
I held NSRPF from the low 55 cents to 7 dollars, and lost so much virtual profit (70,000 USD or so). This was around the time when I first heard of goldtadise.com ๐
I told myself never again repeat. If ticker WXYZ goes from $1 to $5, just sell 50% or even more, and never blame yourself for selling too early.

In that long list of forums/websites/authors, I forgot to thank wallstreetonparade.com
The authors, the Martens, are doing God’s work by telling so much about Wall Street, and providing numbers at length.
Here’s what they posted yesterday:
https://wallstreetonparade.com/2020/06/the-fed-just-pulled-off-another-backdoor-bailout-of-wall-street/
I’d also like to thank Charles Hugh Smith of oftwominds.com for his enlightening
I shaped many of my financial/monetary/fiscal habits from Dave Ramsey’s radio show.
He guided me to becoming debt-free.
But here’s why I gave up on him: why does Dave Ramsey just advocate savings in 401(k) and Roth IRAs? In general, why do most of the financial planners/advisors/investment managers hate gold?
I do understand that the funds management companies would lose out on funds from individuals, if those individuals stored gold.
But please do not call – rather, abuse – those who have 2%-5% of their net worth stored in physical as “gold bugs” derogatorily !!! This applies to Dave Ramsey, a devout Christian who says he believes in giving, giving, and giving!!!
In my late 30s, I said, even if it comes at a cost, I’m going to uncover why are gold bugs the most hated!!! Why are they the butt of jokes at every investment discussion in a social gathering?

Hold on to the NSRPF, tuck it away and forget it for 2 years
Thanks Sir Plunger, I still hold some NSRPF. I took so much profit it in that the remainder of the holding is at a big negative cost. So no qualms about holding it.
Also, I initiated into ROGFF after your post earlier today. So more thanks to you. I had never heard of ROGFF earlier.

Sir Plunger, what is your take on GUYFF? Again, I already took some profit on that one too ๐
I worked the Sprott show in Vancouver last Summer and this year will be participating with their virtual show. Actually got a chance to have a drink with Jim Rickards although he mostly spoke of his farm and growing veggies ๐
Fully loaded now.
Thank you for what I can add GLTA
I personally have learnt a great deal… which I would not have… if I hadn’t followed one of Northstars tweet referencing one of his commentaries on goldtent. That is why I always try to bring more folks along here.. who can learn and teach. For isn’t that the reason we live? To learn and share? Well done for this post. Bravo.
Thank you, Patrick. I look forward to enjoying and learning from all your posts.
