the future of gold
a friend sent me this article.i dont read armstrong any more.
the only gold related site i follow is goldtent!
nothing profound about what is written, but the question itself
is valid and worthy of consideration.

My Question : Is Marty Still Relevant ?
well…mr Marty deserves some respect.he made more money than me in the markets.
and he knows a thing or two about gold! in any event this is a long term fundamental
question.gold will probably out live us all
if he thinks that it is worthless then why does he write gold updates??? 3 billion Chinese and Indians must be wrong along with the Russian gov’t which has no debt. It will be hard to use the physical in the western world as most are living in the clouds.
exactly. for someone who questions its relevance, he spends a lot of effort on it
its not what people say, its what they do
I do wonder what impact crypto-currencies will have, but one thing is for sure – you can’t use cryptos if you’re wanting a fool-proof way of backing a currency with something REAL. Gold has always been, and always will be rare. It has its own intrinsic value, due to its rarity and desirability. If you print you currency to oblivion, then gold will follow a similar path. I think of gold as a barometer which measures the health of the monetary system. I don’t think the dollar is very healthy right now (along with all debt based fiat currencies). That makes me thing the ‘gold barometer’ is going to start pointing upwards again.
the physical gold backed cryptos are coming

marty says his Hal computer models everything
based on data going back millenia.
this is fanciful, as are the central banks fanciful.
the planet is far too complex to be modelled.
another false ‘god’ with its loyal group of followers
he keeps harping on about the coming usd bull market
utter rubbish. its been in a bear market for 150 years and this next leg down may bury it in history
Well said Spock. To claim a dollar bull marked is going to resume is to ignore the facts.
“Is gold still relevant?”
Eric Janszen answered this question almost nine years ago.

(And even though things have clearly changed – most notably the Yuan – his basic argument remains “relevant”.)
