   Mental illness or just a theory that you aren’t familiar with? A lot of people have far fetched theories. That doesn’t make them mentally ill necessarily. You need to understand also that a lot of people aren’t traders like you. They are buy and hold type investors. I don’t care if you bought gold in 2011; I think you’ll make money on it if you hold it until the bull market comes to and end. And this bull in gold has only just begun in my view. $9000 gold is not out of the question and is actually quite modest in my view depending on the actions of the Fed.

   He is consistently VERY wrong but just keeps making insane calls .

   I heard an interview with him on Korelin Economics Report or maybe it was HoweStreet (or maybe both) and I thought wow this guy doesn’t seem to know much about the markets but he’s a good talker. I though I knew everything that he said myself years ago.

   There are too many people who get interviewed even on respectable shows who don’t sound to me like they know anything. All waffle, all vague, no specifics about how markets work, no fundamental justifications of their calls and then numbers that seem to be picked out of thin air. Yes, $9000 gold and $1000 silver might be reached sometime; it just depends on the rate if inflation! If you had said in 1970 that gold will be $850 in 1980, you would have been called a nut. Or even if you said in 1970 that it will be over $1000 within 30 years – then it got there in early 2008.

   However, such calls so not help people who bought their gold at $1800 in 2011-2012!

   I did try to listen to one of his interviews recently. I didn’t like his style so I turned it off.
