SCREWED

The doozy of a week continues, as Ukraine continues to slide into a hopeless abyss. A raft of new reports point to such a maximalist approach from Trump, that it’s difficult not to sensationalize things with premature enthusiasm.
For a long time we wondered at Trump and his team’s true intentions vis-a-vis the war, and whether perhaps the neocon war hawk segment would again reel things back in, steering Trump into the same old escalation spiral against Russia. But thus far, we witness unfolding before us virtually the most optimistic course anyone could have imagined.
Reports of Ukraine Funding Freeze Spell Doom amid Trump-Russia Alignment

As an interesting note, in a new clip referencing the peace deal, Trump states that he thinks Putin “wants to make a deal” but that “he doesn’t have to make a deal because he can have [all of Ukraine] if he wants to.”
It is fascinating for revealing Trump as more perceptive than perhaps we’ve at times given him credit for. Most assumed the US administration believes the lie, based on faulty intelligence, that Russia is weak and in desperate need of a ceasefire. But in fact Trump appears fully aware that Putin doesn’t need this deal, and can carry on swallowing Ukraine whole. This is critical, as it reveals a lot of implications: for instance, the fact that Trump likely knows the incentive needs to be extremely strong for Russia to choose a deal over taking all of Ukraine as part of the war spoils. As such, we can assume the US must logically be preparing major concessions toward Putin’s demands in order to realistically make a ‘peace deal’ work.
I fail to see why anyone would be amazed. This mad scramble on the part of NATO countries and Ukraine is the result of absolute defeat on the battle field. The author credits Trump with cutting off Ukraine from supply as though Trump has any choice in the matter. It is certain that Europe’s military supplies have been spent, and it is likely that American supplies are nearly spent, no doubt far below their emergency cut offs. What’s more, the west has no capacity to quickly resupply. It will take a decade for America to rebuild its supplies of obsolete weapons.
One of Russia’s goals in the SMO was to demilitarize Ukraine. NATO, particularly the U.S. was so blindingly stupid as to allow Russia to demilitarize the entire west. Of note is that Russia did not even declare war to achieve this shocking result. It’s just a special military operation. Russia has defeated the entire west militarily without having gone to war! Let us not pretend that Trump has not pulled of one of his overhyped, three dimensional chess moves. He has no choice, but to capitulate to Russian demands.
Eerily, we don’t even know that he has done. I assume he is still bargaining as though he has leverage. I assume, also, that Putin’s brain trust is amused at whatever nonsensical propositions emerge from their counterparts. This is an American clusterfuck for the ages. It is silly for so many to ascribe to Trump a certain brilliance, when he is merely deserting America’s allies. This is in the American military tradition. Start a war, lose a war, go home, and let your quickly forgotten friends deal with the chaos.
He is amazed that Trump has the authority to Just Leave Europe to the Wolves ( ie ..that he is not constrained by the Deep State Neocons)

Every sentient being in the fucking world knows that Putin can do what he wants with Ukraine. The fact that Trump finally realizes it, doesn’t make him a savant. It makes him a slow learner!
You keep blaming Trump for what the US has done. Yes, he should have done more in his first term but the deep state was in total control and he was fighting impeachment and everything else they were throwing at him including eventually Covid. He has spent the last four years putting everything in place to dismantle the deep state and is now executing that plan. Stop your repeated nonsense about Ukraine. It was Biden all along that created the situation there under Obama and Biden who continued it up until Jan. 20th. It is done and being unwound by Trump.
